The Ajax DoorProtect Plus U Jeweller is a wireless reed-switch opening detector with built-in shock and tilt sensors, designed to meet strict UK security standards. It protects the most common entry points targeted by intruders — including doors, windows, skylights, cabinets, and vaults. Using reed switch technology for reliable opening detection, it also features an integrated accelerometer that detects impact or tilt, helping prevent forced entry attempts. With two reed switches and two included magnets of different sizes, the device offers versatile installation on doors and windows of various designs.
The detector provides flexible mounting options, with the magnet installable on either side of the unit. Its shock detection system can be tuned to one of three sensitivity levels and even configured to ignore a single impact to reduce false alarms. Tilt detection allows protection for partially open windows, with an adjustable angle from 5° to 25° and a configurable delay to avoid nuisance triggers. Additionally, a connector enables integration with a third-party NC detector, allowing the system to incorporate wired opening, motion, or vibration sensors into the Ajax ecosystem for broader coverage.
DoorProtect Plus U Jeweller can also function as a door chime when paired with Ajax sirens or keypads with built-in buzzers, offering four customisable sound patterns for different entrances. Powered by a pre-installed battery, the detector operates for up to five years without replacement. Communication is handled via Ajax’s Jeweller radio protocol, offering up to 1,200 metres of range in open space, two-way encrypted communication, and protection against jamming or spoofing. The device is continuously monitored by the hub for tampering, low battery, or connection loss, with instant alerts sent to users and security companies.
Installation is quick and straightforward using the SmartBracket mounting panel and QR code pairing, without the need to dismantle the enclosure. All configuration can be done remotely via Ajax apps, and the device complies with EN 50131 Grade 2 and PD 6662:2017 standards.
