C-TEC CAST 4W Conventional Zone To CAST Addressable Convertor, Extendable To 8 Way-(CTEC-CA740)

The C-TEC CAST CA740 4-Way Conventional Zone to CAST Addressable Converter is designed to simplify the upgrade of existing conventional fire alarm systems to an advanced C-TEC CAST addressable fire alarm system. By allowing existing conventional zonal wiring to be retained, the CA740 provides an efficient solution for retrofit and system upgrade projects where replacing existing cabling may be disruptive or costly. It is particularly suitable for applications such as commercial buildings, care homes, hotels, schools and other sites requiring a transition from conventional to addressable fire detection.

Supplied as a 4-zone, loop-powered converter, the CA740 supports four individual zonal circuits, with the option to expand the unit to 8 zones using the CA740PCB extender PCB. Each zone provides an isolated circuit for compatible CAST addressable devices, while the converter maintains loop and individual zone circuit integrity. The CA740 operates from 22–40V DC, takes a CAST loop address and is compatible with C-TEC’s XFP and ZFP CAST addressable fire alarm panels.

The C-TEC CA740 FastConvert is an ideal choice for fire alarm system upgrades where installers need to modernise conventional detection without unnecessarily replacing existing zonal wiring. With no requirement for separate end-of-line devices, a dedicated PSU or batteries, the converter provides a practical and space-efficient approach to CAST integration.
