C-TEC CAST Base Sounder C Class VAD White-(CTEC-CA456A/W)
The C-TEC CAST Base Sounder C Class VAD White (CA456A/W) is an advanced addressable fire alarm sounder and Visual Alarm Device (VAD) designed for use with C-TEC CAST-compatible fire alarm panels. Combining a powerful 92dB(A) sounder with high-efficiency white LED visual alarm technology, this ceiling-mounted device provides both audible and visual fire alarm notification. It delivers C-3-8 rated light distribution and is suitable for integration into modern addressable fire detection and alarm systems.
Designed for compatibility with C-TEC's CAST addressable fire alarm technology, the CA456A/W features an onboard short-circuit loop isolator to help maintain loop integrity in the event of a short circuit. The device supports four selectable volume levels and 31 selectable tones, with settings configurable through compatible CAST panel programming tools. A group addressing facility also allows multiple devices to operate simultaneously, providing flexible alarm notification across suitable applications.
The C-TEC CA456A/W CAST C-3-8 Base VAD with 92dB(A) Sounder is LPCB certified to relevant parts of EN54-3, EN54-17 and EN54-23, with system certification to EN54-13, making it a strong choice for compatible commercial and industrial fire alarm systems. It operates from 27–40V DC, has a typical quiescent current of just 460µA, and is housed in a white, IP21C-rated enclosure measuring 122mm in diameter by 46mm deep. The base can also be used as part of a stacked Sounder/VAD/Detector combination or as a standalone device with the appropriate optional cap.
