The C-TEC CAST Compact Wall VAD Red (CTEC-CA458A/SR) is an addressable visual alarm device designed for use with C-TEC CAST-compatible fire alarm systems. This compact wall-mounted VAD provides a clear visual warning during a fire alarm condition, helping alert occupants where visual alarm notification is required. The device features a red housing with a white LED and is designed for indoor applications with an IP21C Type A rating.
The CA458A/SR provides W-3-3.1 light distribution when wall mounted and can also provide C-3-8 coverage when ceiling mounted, offering flexibility for different fire alarm system layouts. Its white LED operates with a 0.5Hz flash rate and the device is certified to EN 54-23 for visual alarm devices, while the integrated short-circuit loop isolator provides additional loop protection. It operates from 27–40V DC and has a typical quiescent current of approximately 460µA.
