The C-TEC CAST-PRO Duct Smoke Detection Kit (CTEC-CPDUCT/OPT) is an addressable duct smoke detection solution designed to identify smoke within air-handling and ventilation ductwork. The kit incorporates a C-TEC CAST-PRO CP416 optical smoke detector and CA408 CAST base housed within a durable duct detector enclosure, providing reliable smoke monitoring where conventional ceiling-mounted fire detectors may not be suitable.
Designed for compatibility with C-TEC XFP and ZFP CAST protocol addressable fire alarm panels, the CPDUCT/OPT samples air travelling through ductwork using a Venturi tube, allowing smoke to be detected as it passes through the ventilation system. The system is designed to operate across a wide range of airflow conditions, with the manufacturer stating suitability for airflow speeds from 0.5m/s to 20m/s when correctly configured with the appropriate Venturi tube.
The C-TEC CPDUCT/OPT duct smoke detector offers low current consumption, an onboard short-circuit loop isolator and highly visible red alarm indicators. It can be mounted horizontally or vertically on the top, bottom or side of suitable ductwork, making it a versatile choice for commercial buildings and fire alarm systems requiring addressable smoke detection within ventilation and air-handling systems.
